If you run a WordPress-based website then you spend a lot of time time in the WordPress dashboard. It’s simple and efficient on the desktop but if you’re on the road and need then the mobile version while functional may feel a bit heavy. In this scenario the native mobile app is a lifesaver.
It’s available for both iOS and Android. I tested the Android version. I initially searched the Play Store directly but didn’t see anything from Automattic (the Company behind WordPress) so I googled it and found links to it on their website.
The site provides links to the iOS and Android versions of the app and lists an overview of the features that the app offers such as push notifications, the ability to create and edit posts, Jetpack integration and stats.
After downloading and launching the app you’re presented with the login screen. You can either login with your wordpress.com account or the credentials for your self-hosted blog.
After that you’re presented with a menu that looks pretty much like the website dashboard.
Everything is straightforward and intuitive. This is an excellent product. Get it a go and see for yourself.
